Eye sockets. Empty flower pots. And a smile from black earth. And the lyre. Lyre chords’ seduction. Liar. Orphic kiss. Manead biker chicks rend my flesh. And maniac biker boys stroke my boners. Lyre. Liar. Smile and loom in between here and there. This is the truth. Lie when you say you are made of truth. Truth suffuses me and crumples. Remnants of charnel house smiles.__St. Thomas, the Necromancer

Thomas van der Krogt continues his investigation of crux between mundane and spiritual in a region where division dissolves. A lifelong student of mysteries, a magus in his own right, van der Krogt often draws from his own direct experience, rather than rely on pre-established symbols. This is visceral drypoint, a printmaking technique that uses direct drawing onto the plate, Oneiric Spectral Manifestation recalls Ensor with its unique depiction of a skeletal figure. Van der Krogt’s skeletons have unique personalities which sets them apart from cliche depictions to which many contemporary artists succumb. This limited edition whould be just as at home in your study as it would on an ancestor altar.
